Bright Week: A Week Long Celebration of the Goddess Aset
Bright Week is a week-long celebration for the ancient Egyptian Goddess Aset! We are celebrating this within the House of Netjer during this week (June 24-30) with chats, rituals, lighting candles, forum topic posts and giving Her plenty of offerings!
We are celebrating Aset as a bright and radiant Goddess this week as the Goddess of the radiant dawn, noon-day sun and dusk; as a Lady of Stars who fills the night sky with light and as a Lady of Renewal as the Goddess Sopdet who is the brightest star in the Heavens (except for the sun). We are also honoring Her as the Widow and Mourner of Wesir. She is the Lady of Magic and Bestower of Blessings! We are also celebrating Aset in all Her forms, guises and aspects!
These festivals are celebrated during this week: Appearance of Sopdet, Burning the Widow’s Flame, Dekan 34: Festival of Aset Giving Libations to Wesir, and Aset Luminous: Procession of Aset, the Brilliant, Mother of God.
I will hopefully be making posts for Aset and Bright Week during this week. So stay tuned! I hope everyone enjoys Bright Week and I would like to thank everyone who helped me organize this event! So, thank you!
Hail Aset, May She watch over and bless everyone during this week-long celebration!
Dua Aset! Nekhtet!
